Finality Panorama

Panoramic photograph created for a large-scale print piece. This was taken in an abandonned movie theater on a military air base in Rantoul, IL. Photo was created by taking 40 or 50 zoomed-in, detailed pictures in a grid, and stitching all the photos together. The resulting panoramic had a fish-eye lens type of look, with a field of vision of about 180°. The title was taken from some graffiti on a toppled wall. Photo featured in Parkland College's IMAGES magazine.

Photograph of DJ Reflex spinning records in the basement of the legendary party house known as 503. The ghost effect was created by the flash firing at the beginning of the picture, keeping the shutter open, and another photographer's flash firing after the DJ shifted.

Photograph of J. Phlip spinning records at 503. The glowing face and light trail effects were created by firing the flash and leaving the shutter open while moving the camera. The printed figure in the background is Bob Geldof, whose printout regularly appears at parties thrown by the folks at UCDNB.com.

Squirrel In Captivity

Photograph of a squirrel caught in an exterminator's trap. The squirrel had been in there for some time, and had injured itself trying to escape. The main point of the photo is to create sympathy for the animal, and promote less painful ways of extermination.

The original photo had cracks, folds, scratches and discoloration, and the retouched photo retains all the detail while eliminating the weathering.
